The Florida State Beekeepers Association will be holding its Annual Conference and meeting in conjunction with UFHBREL Bee College at the New Bee Lab in Gainesville, Florida on October 12-13!
FSBA is organizing programs geared toward the Commercial Beekeeper to happen in conjunction with Bee College. Lunch both days is included and a Commercial Beekeeper Breakfast on Saturday. This will be held at the UFHBREL Bee Lab, 1881 Natural Area Dr, Gainesville, FL 32611. The Honey Bee Technical Council Meeting is also part of the agenda, meeting Friday October 12, 9am-12pm.
We will all come together Friday Evening for a Keynote Presentation and Banquet to enjoy a delicious buffet of BBQ and Fish Fry and celebrate our connections to one another and our beloved honey bee! We will also have a Live Auction filled with items to excite and delight! This event will be held at the Straughn Center, 2142 Shealy Dr, Gainesville, FL 32611
FSBA Annual Board Meeting and Election
The Annual FSBA Board Meeting and Election will take place at the end of the schedule on Saturday, October 13. All are welcome to attend this meeting at no charge or ticket reservation. Refreshments will be served. For the election portion of the meeting, only paid members of the FSBA will be able to vote. We look forward to your input and participation!

For the first time ever, Bee College will be held in Gainesville, FL on the University of Florida campus at the brand new Honey Bee Lab facilities! This is a two-day event offering training for beekeepers of all experience levels, gardeners, naturalists, county agents, and anyone else interested in bees.
Friday and Saturday courses cover practical beekeeping skills, honey bee behavior, specialty hive products, native bees, honey bee research updates, and more. Beginner classes will be offered both days for anyone new to the world of honey bees, while advanced classes are appropriate for backyard and sideline beekeepers. If you are a commercial beekeeper, be sure to check out the classes being offered by the Florida State Beekeepers Association, concurrent to Bee College (click here for FSBA registration).

Discounted tickets (10% off) are available for 2-day tickets to active duty military members, Retired Veterans, Florida State Beekeepers Association members, active members of the Master Beekeeper, Master Gardner, and/or Master Naturalist Programs, UF/IFAS county extension faculty, and anyone under 18 years of age.
Late registrations (after October 7, 2018) will incur additional fees.

Bee College Honey Show
All Bee College participants are encouraged to participate in the 2018 Bee College Honey Show. Entry is free! This is an opportunity to have your honey, candles, mead, bee-themed art, and more critiqued by certified judges. This is a great way to learn how to improve the hive products that you produce! Rules and submission forms will be posted soon.
Light refreshments will be available for attendees at the breaks throughout the day.
On Friday and Saturday, we will break for lunch for 2 hours. There are many lunch options nearby.
A limited number of spots are also available at the Florida State Beekeepers Association lunchtime workshops which will be offered for free on Friday and Saturday over lunch (lunch provided by FSBA). These workshops are available for anyone attending Bee College and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis with limited seating. Friday evening, after Bee College classes, join the Florida State Beekeepers Association and fellow beekeepers for a banquet and keynote presentation at the Straughn IFAS Extension Professional Development Center in Gainesville. Tickets available here.
